IT"S NOT WASTE

it is a material that is in the wrong place that nobody has found a use for.

About us

It all began with a simple idea fueled by a deep passion. As a small business, we pride ourselves on personal attention and dedication to every detail. Our approach is rooted in quality and integrity, ensuring that everything we do reflects our commitment to excellence.

Welcome to    Its Not Waste,     where sustainability meets creativity. We're on a mission to redefine recycling by focusing on consumer plastics and turning waste into valuable resources. Every plastic bottle, container, and wrapper deserves a second life, and every small action contributes to a cleaner, greener planet.

Its Not Waste is dedicated to helping individuals and businesses reduce plastic waste through practical and efficient recycling solutions. Together, we can rethink how we use plastics and other waste, work to embrace reuse, get to a future where "waste" becomes a thing of the past.

My story

Ben Molineux

My Dad was the son of a Farmer

My Mum the daughter of a banker

My dad ran a Herb nursery an also was a basket maker and avid gardener.

My mum was mum to me and my 3 brothers and was also loved knitting and sewing.

Mum and dad grew up in a much simpler time her father still did all the acc ledgers for the bank every day by hand (in pound and shillings no easy decimal currency!)

On the farm they still weeded the fields by hand hoeing!!(Mainly sugar beet)

And power was Clydesdale horses.

And as ww2 happened while they were growing up they got used to rationing and being frugal to make things last.

When they moved to Australia with their young family money was tight and making do was a normal part of life.

I remember growing up that we never had much in the form of material possessions. But what we did buy was good quality and well made.

We moved a lot so never gathered much.at a few places we had furniture made out of scrap wood fruit crates and mum would make most of our clothes and soft furnishings (cushions, curtains, rugs and toys (lots of teddy bears etc. Also sold lots of them) mostly from second-hand and scrap fabric.

And Dad would be madly gardening growing food for the family and herbs to sell. When it got hot, he would go to the shed and make baskets

When I joined the workforce, I started off in the supermarket industry.

And I remember being shocked at how much waste even a small shop could produce.

And how much good stuff went into the bin

(I remember dad telling me that a weed was just a plant we hadn’t found a use for growing in the wrong place)

To me now that is how I see waste, rubbish, garbage junk or whatever you call things to be thrown out.

It is not waste it is just material that hasn’t yet found a useful purpose!!!!!!

Have always been trying to reuse recycle as much as I could

Love trees and timber

(One of the most sustainable eco-friendly materials in the world)

Mum used to say that you can’t change the world, but you can change how you live in it.

But maybe you can change the world 1 small piece of waste at a time!!

2016 came up with the idea of a recycling waste reduction business

It’s now 2025!!

Has taken a while and lots of research and experimenting in the shed

But now   ITS NOT WASTE     is ready to unleash on the world
