welcome to it not waste

welcome >

am planning to use this blog and website to spread ideas about recycling.

  its not waste

has been created to sell recycled products and spread information about all things that will bring about zero waste.

below is my list of 11 actions that everyone can easily do.

11 things you can do every day to help reduce waste:

  1. Refuse: Refuse to buy things that are bad for the environment and will create waste. Buy quality items that will last longer and reduce landfill waste.
  2. Reduce: When you go shopping, always ask yourself if you really need the item. Look for items with less packaging and always take your own bags or boxes.
  3. Reuse: Reuse as much as possible to prevent items from ending up in landfills. Some things, if looked after, still work decades later.
  4. Repair: Always ask if items can be repaired rather than replaced.
  5. Repurpose: Consider if items can be used for something different by you, someone else, a friend, or a charity.
  6. Recycle: If you have done the first 5 steps, consider if materials can be recycled to make new items. Local craftspeople and groups can often use recycled materials.
  7. Rescue: Keep an eye out for things that have been thrown out; can you use or make something with it?
  8. Research: Educate yourself about the life cycle of rubbish and consumer items. Share your knowledge with others.
  9. Responsibility: Realize that everyone has the power and responsibility to control what happens to each item they consider putting in the bin.
  10. Revaluate: Examine your lifestyle and consider ways to change your impact on the environment. We all have a responsibility to care for the planet.
  11. React and Relate: Share your knowledge and experiences with others to promote a zero waste future.
